As yet another week draws to a close, recent incidents have led me to reflect upon this question: do we really behave differently when in a relationship?
To me the answer is undoubtedly yes, although the amount of change would vary from person to person. Some guys might claim that its jsut the girls who transform to bitches but umm, sorry guys. I think we can become quite bastards as well.
So why is this so then? Pple change as a result of feelings... just like we would sometimes change ourselves to better fit the 'ideal' image desired by a loved one. Unfortunately feelings sometime would change us to unreasonable S.O.Bs as well... or at least more unreasonable than we normally are. Feelings are like that though; irrational, unpredictable and uncontrollable.
A true indication that a couple has got things figured out alrite? Its not so much so how much they admire/like certain points abt each other, but how much they understand each other and are comfortable/accepting of the other party's weaknesses and certain obsessions.
On that note, I wish my heartiest congratulations to my dear cuz Nat who's just gotten engaged. =) Nat and Jason are that sort of couple; quietly accepting of each other's faults and always supportive of one another. I still recall when I visited her in Australia, both Nat and I were waiting for Jason to come meet us for dinner. Jason was running quite late (many girls I know would flare up by now) and I could tell that Nat wasn't all that happy, but she merely just said that 'oh he always has to have a drink with his workmates after work, thats probably why'. Sure enough, Jason turned up and immediately apologized profusely for being late because he had to have that drink. And they exchanged this look which I think spoke volumes about their relationship. Jason's look was 'I'm sorry' while Nat's look was simply 'I know'.
Now if that isn't perfect, tell me what is. =)
